Tutor Groups

All students are assigned to a tutor whom they meet on a daily basis for registration and general administration. Tutors are responsible for overseeing academic progress, providing pastoral care and giving initial Higher Education and careers advice. There are approximately twenty to twenty-five girls in each Year 12 tutor group and these groups carry on into Year 13. There is a fortnightly tutorial session which covers a range of topics including Citizenship to ensure that students receive the necessary support and guidance.
All sixth form students are attached to one of four houses that are organised vertically on a whole school basis. This enables the sixth form to feel part of the school as a whole; several activities, such as Sports Day, are run on a house basis. The Heads of each House are elected from the Sixth Form by all members of the school.
Each tutor group is represented by an elected member on the Sixth Form Council. This meets once a month led by the Head Girl. Any issues can be brought to the attention of the Council. These issues are then discussed and, through minutes, passed on to the relevant person for action. The Council also works jointly with the Boys' Council to organise social activities.
